Coach Shannon is a local product of the Paradise Valley School District, having attended Hidden Hills Elementary, Shea Middle School and Shadow Mountain High School. He then went on to ASU to earn his bachelors degree in K-12 Physical Education. He is also a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach. While not coaching cross country and track and field at Pinnacle he can be found coaching Explorer Middle School's Distance Track and Field athletes as well as teaching Physical Education to students at Desert Shadows Elementary.
Coach Shannon is a recreational runner having completed seven marathons (Arizona Rock N' Roll x2, Tucson, Eugene, San Diego, LA and Grandma's Marathon) with a modest PR of 3:49:33, an Ultra Ragnar Relay (200 miles between 6 runners), and countless road races from 5k-10k. Outside of running he enjoys hiking, snowboarding and relaxing.
Coach Shannon became a Pioneer in 2022 after coaching the prior fifteen years at his alma mater of Shadow Mountain High School between his two stops he has coached thirteen athletes to 38 all-state honors in both track and field and cross country. Among those were six state champions in track and field; Meagan Van Pelt in the 3200m (2018), Robby Foster in the 800m (2018), Nate Pestka in the 1600m (2022) and 3200m (2022), a Boys 4x800m Team in 2022 and Gabs Chiarra in the 800m (2023). In addition, he has sent numerous athletes to run at all levels of collegiate competition. His proudest accomplishment is having a team GPA average, since Coach Shannon arrived at Pinnacle, sitting at 3.86, a true testament to putting the student before the athlete.

Coach Warren, like Coach Shannon, is a product of the Paradise Valley School District having attended Copper Canyon, Sunrise, and Paradise Valley High School. He then proceeded to ASU to earn a bachelors in Journalism and a teaching certificate from Rio Salado. Coach Warren completed his first season as an assistant coach for the cross country team in 2022. While not a runner in his youth Coach Warren brings invaluable wisdom about team atmosphere and culture having been an all-state athlete and team leader while at PVHS. Coach Warren is also history teacher on campus at Pinnacle.
