Sr. Therese Pham Thi Bach Tuyet op, President, Federation of Vietnamese Dominican Sisters Greetings from Viet Nam! It is a great privilege for me to be invited to read your book Preaching Justice: Dominican Contributions to Social Ethics in the Twentieth Century and to give it an endorsement. I find in this book a treasure of Dominican prophetic spirituality, rooted in Gospel values and the Teaching of the Church. On the other hand, I also discover different ways of social action in many concrete situations among our Dominicans, who proclaim the Truth and struggle for love, equality, justice and peace and the preferential option for the poor and the weak. The book expresses how the Dominican life and preaching mission is still flourishing and relevant to respond to the signs of the times in many parts of the world through theological reflection and social engagement. We are very grateful for all the work that has gone into publishing this book. It is a valuable contribution to all the members of our international Dominican family, especially in Viet Nam. Living in the communist country, our young sisters and brothers need to be protected from the influence of a Marxist education system. The youth of Viet Nam need the guidance this book gives; it will fully enrich them and other readers in the field of Christian social ethics. Furthermore, it will encourage them to engage in this important field, both in practical ways and through academic reflection. Congratulations! Through the intercession of St. Dominic and St. Catherine, may God bless all those involved in producing this much-needed book.
