LEADERSHIP TRAINING

To build stronger Posts, we have to build stronger leaders. We believe effective leadership development happens in two buckets: Leadership Knowledge—the skills to lead people—and Legion Knowledge—the understanding to lead a Post well.

During the first half of the day, we'll focus on Leadership Knowledge— helping you develop your leadership skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leading volunteers.

During the second half, we'll build  your Legion Knowledge by teaching the foundations of how a successful Post operates, including officer roles, the Constitution & Bylaws, parliamentary procedure, and conducting effective meetings.

Whether you're a current officer, an aspiring leader, or simply want to become a more informed Legionnaire, this session provides the foundational knowledge every Legionnaire should have.

After attending this training, you will:

• Discover what effective leadership looks like in today's American Legion.

• Have the ability to motivate others, solve problems, and lead with purpose.

• Realize that leadership is about influence—not titles.

• Start to create a culture of engagement, accountability, and shared ownership within your Post.
