Complete all necessary documentation required for fieldwork by the established deadlines.
Before your fieldwork:
Complete orientation requirements as outlined in CORE ELMS
Secure a site for your fieldwork
Work with your site supervisor to identify areas of interest and opportunities for your experiential learning
During fieldwork:
Log in and participate in class activities for PS555, including seminars, discussions, and assignments
Participate in activities as assigned by the site
Be prepared
Dress appropriately and in accordance with the site’s guidelines
Conduct yourself in an ethical and professional manner at all times
Arrive on time and work as scheduled
Discuss with your supervisor any concerns in a timely manner
Log hours at the site in the CORE ELMS hours log
Complete the required number of hours (150 hours minimum).
Purdue Global's Responsibilities
The Purdue University Global graduate psychology department will determine whether you have met the requirements necessary to begin fieldwork.
The Clinical Placement Team will accomplish the following:
• Provide you with fieldwork processes and expectations via CORE ELMS Step by Step instructions.
• Interact with the site supervisor as required by the BACB or Purdue University Global policy.
• Interact as necessary with the fieldwork course instructor regarding your experience and progress/concerns.
The site and site supervisor will determine if you have met the requirements necessary to complete the fieldwork component at the site.
• Complete and sign the fieldwork Affiliation Agreement.
• Complete and sign the contacts form.
• Provide a safe work environment.
• Provide a professionally qualified supervisor for you.
• Orient you to the site’s organizational goals, structure, and operating practices.
• Provide experience and guidance to help you meet the required number of client or industry-related hours.
• Allow you access to appropriate staff members and clients.
• Ensure that you conduct yourself within the ethical guidelines outlined by the organization.
• Report to the Clinical Placement Team any problems with your behavior or conduct.
Work with a BCBA supervisor for your fieldwork supervision
• Determine your competency level and evaluate accordingly
• Support your professional development
• Provide insight on BACB credentialing
• Provide you feedback in a timely manner
• Identify areas of potential skill development
• Provide a dynamic and engaging learning experience
• Assist you with questions as well as the direction of the project to ensure mutual benefit of experience
• Keep documentation per Purdue University Global and BACB credentialing requirements
• Confirm or deny hours in the hours logs
• Complete evaluations
• Sign all necessary documentation
