Tutoring
Drop-in Sessions
If you have a quick question about your work, join our Drop-In Sessions. No appointments are needed, but we will serve students in order of arrival.
When you enter the PLC, you'll see the Lead Tutor sitting at the front of the lobby, and things may seem a bit busy at the beginnings of shifts, but people will be assigned to tutors by order of who has arrived. We will do our best to accommodate everyone, but there may or may not be a short wait for tutors; please be patient!
Don't worry! If we can't answer your question, we'll set an appointment for you at a later date. Additionally, if you need to ask a quick question, feel free to DM the PLC Instagram at @punahou.plc! We also have plc@punahou.edu for those who'd prefer to email us, so don't hesitate to contact us!
Appointments
For more in-depth help, sign up for a one-on-one appointment. We will pair you with a tutor, and together you can meet regularly for extra help. Sessions typically occur once a week and last 45 minutes, but you can decide with your tutor how often you would like sessions to be.
In addition to general help, we can help with a variety of specific courses. On the sign-up form, please indicate any particular classes you want help with, and we'll pair you with a student who has experience with that course.
Scheduling
To schedule an individual appointment with a tutor, please follow the steps below:
Fill out the PLC matching form here.
After completing the form, we will pair you with a tutor. This tutor will reach out to you via email within 2-3 days.
When they do:
Respond to your tutor. They will arrange a time within the week to meet with you that works best.
Meet with your tutor.
NOTE:
Please respect our tutors' time and schedules. By scheduling an appointment you are making a commitment to meet with your tutor at that time. Please do not skip appointments or cancel suddenly without a reason.
If you are more than 15 minutes late for a scheduled appointment, we will cancel it and you will need to reschedule.
