Not sure what to read?

You've come to the right spot!

Mr D's suggestion for the week!

Not many school libraries have a dyslexic, struggling reader as their Hubrarian.  Finding that perfect book that is going to pull you in and make you refuse to put it down is SO important to Mr D.  Click HERE to see a list of books Mr D enjoys!

Check out a Book Trailer below!

PCMS' very own Digital Art class has worked with Mr D for the past few years creating digital book trailers. Between those trailers and trailers Mr D has found online, hopefully you can find a great book to read.  Click on the pictures below to listen to some info about each of these books!

LAND OF STORIES by Chris Colfer

Alex and Conner Bailey's world is about to change, in this fast-paced adventure that uniquely combines our modern day world with the enchanting realm of classic fairy tales.

The Land of Stories tells the tale of twins Alex and Conner. Through the mysterious powers of a cherished book of stories, they leave their world behind and find themselves in a foreign land full of wonder and magic where they come face-to-face with fairy tale characters they grew up reading about.

But after a series of encounters with witches, wolves, goblins, and trolls alike, getting back home is going to be harder than they thought.

PROJEKT 1065 by Alan Gratz

Peter Z - 2023

Infiltrate. Befriend. Sabotage.

World War II is raging. Michael O'Shaunessey, originally from Ireland, now lives in Nazi Germany with his parents. Like the other boys in his school, Michael is a member of the Hitler Youth.  But Michael has a secret. He and his parents are spies.

Michael despises everything the Nazis stand for. But he joins in the Hitler Youth's horrific games and book burnings, playing the part so he can gain insider knowledge.

When Michael learns about Projekt 1065, a secret Nazi war mission, things get even more complicated. He must prove his loyalty to the Hitler Youth at all costs -- even if it means risking everything he cares about.  Including... his own life.

PRISONER B3087 by Alan Gratz

Grace L - 2025

Survive. At any cost.

10 concentration camps. 10 different places where you are starved, tortured, and worked mercilessly. It's something no one could imagine surviving. But it is what Yanek Gruener has to face. As a Jewish boy in 1930s Poland, Yanek is at the mercy of the Nazis who have taken over. Everything he has, and everyone he loves, have been snatched brutally from him. And then Yanek himself is taken prisoner -- his arm tattooed with the words PRISONER B-3087. He is forced from one nightmarish concentration camp to another, as World War II rages all around him. He encounters evil he could have never imagined, but also sees surprising glimpses of hope amid the horror. He just barely escapes death, only to confront it again seconds later. Can Yanek make it through the terror without losing his hope, his will -- and, most of all, his sense of who he really is inside? Based on an astonishing true story.

TOOK by Mary Downing Hahn

Hailey D - 2025

“Folks say Old Auntie takes a girl and keeps her fifty years—then lets her go and takes another one.”     Thirteen-year-old Daniel Anderson doesn’t believe Brody Mason’s crazy stories about the ghost witch who lives up on Brewster’s Hill with Bloody Bones, her man-eating razorback hog. He figures Brody’s probably just trying to scare him since he’s the new kid . . . a “stuck-up snot” from Connecticut. But Daniel’s seven-year-old sister Erica has become more and more withdrawn, talking to her lookalike doll. When she disappears into the woods one day, he knows something is terribly wrong. Did the witch strike? Has Erica been “took”?

Can't Find a Book You'd Like at PCMS?

The Hub Needs Your Help

The Pulaski Community Middle School Hub has lots of great books and the Hubrarians do a great job researching new books and keeping our series up to date but sometimes students read an amazing book or author and notice we don't have them in the Hub.  That is where we need you.  As you are reading books this Spring or over the Summer, if you come across and amazing title you think we should have in the Hub, please add the title (and author is you know it) on the form so we can make sure other students can have the same amazing opportunity.
