District Library Program Mission/ Vision

PCSD libraries are collaborative, dynamic learning spaces that provide a variety of physical and digital resources that support learner needs, and personal interests. The space, resources and programs inspire the school community to engage in collaboration, use critical thinking to become problem solvers, be effective consumers of content, and create authentic products purposeful in our global, digital world.

If you need help with checking a book out or with finding a book, Mrs Diefenthaler and Mrs Leigh will be the person you will go to first. If we don't have a book in the Hub you like, let us know and we will try to order one!

FICTION

All libraries are split into two sections. The fiction and the non-fiction. Our fiction area is our largest and is found on the left side, middle and back walls. Books in the fiction section are organized by Genre and within each genre by the author's last name for example, the book Hatchet written by Gary Paulsen will be found in the Adventure/Survival genre and have a call number of FIC Pau and most books written by Alan Gratz would be located in the Historical Fiction area with call number Fic Gra.

NON-FICTION

The second section of the Hub is our non-fiction area. This section is to the right or on the South side of the Hub. Here you will find books broke into specific categories such as biography, business, cooking, health and fitness, pets, crafts and more. Our most popular section is our graphic novel section. The non-fiction section is organize by the Dewey Decimal system. If you were looking for the book, The Love of Baseball, you would head to the sports area (796) and locate the book at 796.35 with the authors name of Lov.

2. Go to Destiny Discover and put the book you are interested on hold. Mrs Leigh and Mrs D will deliver these books to you then.
3. Once you are logged into Destiny Discover, you can read/checkout an ebook to read on your iPad or checkout a digital audio to listen to.
