Joey Walker

Professional Bio

This Joey's second year as a teacher at Confluence, but his 10th overall in education. He earned his BS in Kinesiology Education from Appalachian State University in North Carolina. His career has been full of a variety of experiences, including: Coaching, Social Work, Personal Training, Teaching, School Administration, and Non-Profit Directing.  The year prior to teaching at Confluence, Joey served our SISB while also still maintaining his previous job as the Director of a local youth Non-Profit called Young Life. He has spent most of his life working with teenagers and is especially drawn to those who are often disregarded or misunderstood by society. Joey loves working at Confluence and looks forward to continuing to grow and learn as an Advisor over the years to come. 

Personal Bio

Joey lives in Auburn with his wife and 3 kids. His oldest 2 (daughters) attend EV Cain Middle School, and his youngest (son) attends Skyridge Elementary School. Joey loves being a dad and husband and spending time with his family is a top priority to him. Apart from that, he has a heart for adventure. In his spare time you can often find him on a trail either on his bike or his feet. He never says no to a new adventure, visiting a new place, trying a new type of food, or drinking another cup of coffee. His favorite author is Stephen King, favorite movie is ET, and favorite food is Breakfast Burritos.
