Please submit your abstract to present at the CHSG meeting by January 25, 2023.
Selection Process and Considerations
In their selection of papers, the CHSG program chairs consider a range of factors. Of course, the quality of the proposal is key. In addition, selection is based on the goal of putting together a program that includes scholars from a range of institutions and backgrounds, topics from a range of time periods and disciplines, and students or scholars who have not presented at recent CHSG meetings.
The CHSG conference is a small meeting, with a limited number of presenters. Graduate students are reminded that they will be presenting in front of leading academic scholars, as well as their peers. While the CHSG meeting is known for its less formal tone, the academic rigor of the presentations is taken very seriously. Thus, the organizers request that presenters make every effort to prepare a professional talk.
CHSG has long been a welcoming venue for first time presenters and we encourage graduate students and first time presenters to submit abstracts. If accepted, we strongly recommend that you practice your presentation in advance with your home department or with your advisor. This will not only ensure the quality of the presentations, it will also help you get the most constructive feedback on your work.
