Puducherry Technological University (PTU) is an active member of ShodhShuddhi, a flagship initiative launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Since its inception on September 1, 2019, ShodhShuddhi has aimed to uphold academic integrity and research quality across the nation by providing all universities and institutions in India with access to advanced Plagiarism Detection Software (PDS).
In alignment with this mission, the INFLIBNET Centre, a key partner in the initiative, introduced a new phase of the program starting October 1, 2023. As part of this phase, the centre offers the DrillBit-Extreme Plagiarism Detection Software to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). This software is designed to meet the evolving needs of researchers, ensuring that their work adheres to the highest standards of originality and ethical scholarship.
At PTU, the Ph.D. scholars actively use the DrillBit-Extreme software to conduct plagiarism checks for their theses and journal articles. This ensures that their research outputs are free from unauthorized content and comply with academic and ethical guidelines. By integrating this tool into the research workflow, PTU reinforces its commitment to fostering a culture of integrity and excellence in research.
Through its participation in ShodhShuddhi, PTU continues to contribute to the collective goal of enhancing the credibility of Indian research on the global stage. This initiative not only empowers researchers but also strengthens the reputation of PTU as a hub for innovative, ethical, and impactful research.
