This week we will be looking at how to construct an effective paragraph and also stretch our sentences out so they are more interesting and exciting.

This week we will continue working on our sentences in our writing. You will have a chance to play around with sentence types this week in your writing to see how these should be in our writing. We are going to use the story prompt for our writing this week and you will need to finish off the story.
You will need to answer the questions related to the picture with your teacher to help you finish off writing the end of the story. This is linking into our endangered animals that we are looking at this week.We will use our practice of simple, complex and compound sentences from last week to help us create an interesting story.

This week we will be looking at sentences and how to make them better in our writing. You will need to complete the presentation then work with Miss Parrant to see some of your work from the year and find some simple, compound and complex sentences.
You will then have the chance to practice some of these sentences in a writing activity this week.

Walt: write thought provoking questions and answer these clearly
We had such a fun experience at camp last week that we should share these expereinces with people on our blogs. What you will need to do:
- Create questions that are asking people about their camp experiences. Use creative questions that can be answered in different ways.
- Pair up with a buddy and ask them these questions and write down their responses. Then swap over.
- Record these using an i-pad which you can then share on your blog.

It is really important that we thank all of the people who made camp possible so your next task will be to create a thank-you card for someone who really made your camp enjoyable and possible. Use the template provided to help you with ides.

Instructions:
This week we will be completing a fun activity and then writing about it as a recount. You will need to complete the activity with your teacher and then go over the recount structure and start writing.
You will need to:
- Go through the instructions with your teacher on how to structure a recount.
- Complete your writing in the writing template.

Welcome to 2018! It is now time to update your "about me" blurb for your blog. You might still have the same interest but I am sure some things have changed.
Things you could include in your "about me:"
- Welcoming visitors to your page
- Your interest and hobbies
- What you are looking forward to learning about this year.
There are lots of people who visit your blog so we want to include information about ourselves but not too much information.

Instructions:
Before we start our writing you will need to complete an activity with your teacher about what you should and shouldn't share online. You will then need to do the following:
- Make a copy of the about me writing template and place this in your writing folder.
- Make sure that you include your name in the title.
- Start creating your about me.
- Make sure to proofread your work and use the correct punctuation (capital letters, fullstops and commas).
Finished?
First make sure that you have proofread your work and answer the following questions:
- Does it make sense?
- Have I used fullstops and capital letters?
- Have i checked my spelling?
Once you have answered all of these questions and you are happy with your about me check with your teacher and then add your drive link to the blog log. The you can complete the next activity Beginning of 2018
