Last week, we went to Y6 Camp. We did so many amazing things, and because we have been looking at recounts this term, why not write a recount about Y6 Camp? We also have many people to thank, so don't forget to write a letter to those people. For those who didn't come to camp, you can write about what you did back at school.
WALT: Write well structured narratives with specific and precise vocabulary choices.
Instructions:
While the smelly Year 6's are away at camp, you guys will be working on writing a scary Zombie story.
Remember! Be creative, use specific and precise language, and most importantly have fun being creative!
WALT: leave well-written, thoughtful, helpful, and positive comments on blog posts

WALT: write clear and detailed explanations that help others understand how planes fly.
Instructions:
Today you will be using all of the awesome background knowledge (plus extra research if you need to) to explain, to somebody who knows nothing about planes, how they fly!
You will need to write using PEEL paragraphs, and use the scientific vocabulary that we have learned (lift, thrust, drag, weight etc.) to add detail so they can learn about what we have already learned.
WALT: to add detail by using adjectives, adverbs and descriptive language in order to make our writing interesting.
Instructions:
Getting to school in the morning can seem like a pretty uninteresting thing, however it is a mini-adventure every morning, and if you use good language, interesting descriptions, and add some flair and excitement, you can make it seem a whole lot more interesting.
This week you will be writing a recount on this event, making sure to use good descriptive language to add interesting detail to our wrtiting!
WALT: organise and structure a recount using sequential paragraphs and to add detail by using descriptive language.
Instructions:
On the first day of the term we did something really exciting; we conducted a science experiment using paper planes. We looked at the forces of flight, looked at different plane designs, came up with our own hypothesis, tested and measured our plane's flight, but most importantly , we had a ton of fun!
This week you will be writing a recount on this event, making sure to use good descriptive language to add interesting detail to our wrtiting!
WALT: structure a recount using detailed and descriptive language.

This term our theme is "May the Force Be With You". This term we will be looking at flight, and the different forces that make it possible. On Monday we had an immersion assembly where all of the teams showed us what they were going to be doing this term.
You now need to create a recount about that assembly remember to add as much detail as you can.
