Week 3: Treasures

This year our school wide theme is called ‘Cherish our Treasures’ or ‘Tiaki Taonga’. So what does this mean? What is a treasure? Well, a treasure could have different meanings for different people.

Most people would think of the word ‘treasure’ as being something rare and valuable like finding a pirates treasure chest full of gold. A treasure could be something important passed down from one person to another. This week you will be finding out more about what makes a treasure.

Week 3 Learning

Week 4: How do we cherish our treasures?

Last week we looked at what a treasure was and why these could be important to us. This week we are going to look at how we can cherish our treasures.

This means how do we make sure that our treasures can be cherished for a long time. We will be looking at the environment, animals, sustainability, the earth and what we can do to make sure that we can continue to cherish our treasures for a long time.
