What is Run Club?

Our focus here at Saratoga Elementary lies on the students health and community building. Running is a fantastic sport that brings many rewarding benefits for children’s physical, mental and personal development. Our goal is to encourage students to walk or run, set personal goals and build confidence while having a fun and positive experience in a non-competitive environment. Run Club is a free program made possible through parent volunteers and primarily funded by the PTA.

When does Run Club happen and how does it work?

  • Run Club is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:20PM - 1:00PM, providing there is no rain and the grass field is safe to run on.
  • Kids run/walk laps around the grass field. For every mile they complete, they receive a charm of their choice (6 laps make one mile). Special charms are awarded at specific mile achievements (10mi., 13 mi., 20 mi., and 26 mi.)
  • No special attire is required, however we do recommend wearing appropriate running shoes and comfortable clothing. Custom designed t-shirts will be available in late fall for ordering, notifications of the sale will be announced through e-news as well as paper flyers.
  • Children can participate anytime they choose too, no sign-up or commitment is required.

Who can participate?

All Saratoga Elementary (1st - 5th Grade) students may participate. Run Club is currently not offered to Kindergarten students.

How can I help/volunteer?

Volunteers are needed to help with set up, lap tracking and clean up from 12pm to 1pm. If you would like to volunteer your time you can sign up for an open slot through SignUpGenius. All volunteers need to be cleared.
