The Teen Center is a space for students to relax and unwind from the school day. Students are encouraged to participate in various activities, make new friends, and have fun. Activities: Pool, Ping-Pong, Air Hockey, Basketball arcade, Wii U, X-Box 1, Movies, PlayStation 4, Music Videos, tournaments and much more!

The purpose of HW/Tutoring Support is to create a space, before and after school, where students work on and complete their academic assignments. We encourage collaboration between peer tutors and students who need academic support. In addition, we provide access to resources (Computers, printers, internet, and other supplies).

Here at The Nest, we offer a Driver`s Ed course is free for all student to participate in. All we ask is that your students bring back our application that they can obtain here at the high school within room 108. This is a self-pace course where students learn about the rules and regulation of the law when it comes to driving. Upon, completion of the course, students will obtain a certification of completion that can present to the DMV and be one step closing to obtain their drivers permit.

For this enrichment program, students choose recipes and cooking styles they would like to learn. In addition, the component supports mastery by developing culinary skills progressively (knife skills, food safety, and presentation). Students will also have the chance to earn hours for their culinary license.

Poetry club was newly commenced January of 2024. Although new, we welcome in members with open arms. In this club, you learn how to cultivate meaningful poems, understand and process them, as well as find the beauty in poetry. As for the leadership council, the president and founder of poetry club, Vanessa Siqueiros, puts in amazing work for every meeting held. She is dedicated and comes up with creative ways for us to learn what poetry is about. Next is vice president Juliana Parga. Juliana keeps things in line and shares her ideas. Then there is Jackie Aguilar. She is in charge of our Instagram account  (@dhshs.poetryclub). Jackie does a wonderful job in sharing photos of our weekly held meetings. Additionally, we have treasurer Luis Mora Cortes who is responsible for the funds tied to the club. If interested, please check it out and stop by!

Musicology club invites students to express their individuality, sparks innovation and creative and showcases their talent amongst their fellow peers.

Our student leadership program is both a challenging and rewarding experience. Student leaders are intentionally given opportunities to practice a variety of skills that culminate in strong leadership development (communication, teamwork, time management, conflict resolution, and influence). All student leaders are under the mentorship of an Older Youth Leader and are developed to lead and manage their assigned component. They are directly involved in the decision-making process of program development, recruitment and retention efforts, and site leadership.
