Objectives:
The event is for students to celebrate their creativity and artistic works.
All submitted entries shall be compiled to make a Literary Magazine by the college student publication, Compendium.
Guidelines:
All entries must abide by the Science Month theme: “Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon”.
There shall be four categories in the Arts for Sciences event:
Digital Art
Traditional Art (non-digital)
Poem
Short Story
Digital Art:
Artwork created using computer software (such as photoshop, illustrator, sketchbook, procreate). Submit as an image file (JPG, PNG) with its title and a one-sentence explanation of the artwork. Size must be in ratio with letter size (8.5in x 11in) in high resolution.
Traditional Art:
Artwork created using physical, tangible materials (such as charcoal, coffee, oil, paint, canvas, paper). Submit as an image file (JPG, PNG) by taking a clear photo or clear scan. Size must be in ratio with letter size (8.5in x 11in) in high resolution.
Poem:
Written work in free form or with structured verses, either in English or Filipino. Must convey a message of hope in light of the current times. Maximum of 300 words. Submit as Document file (.docx).
Short Story:
Written work in free form or prose, either in English or Filipino. Must convey a message of hope in light of the current times. Maximum of 1000 words. Submit as Document file (.docx).
Each block is required to have one (1) participant in every category.
The contest will start on September 1 to September 15, 2021. Please watch out for the following dates together with the indicated instructions:
September 1 - 13 - Submission of Entries
September 13 - Posting of Entries
September 15 - Cut-off / Closing of Social Media Votes
September 17 - Announcement of Winners
Entries should be judged by the following criteria:
Creativity - 20%
Originality - 20%
Relevance to the Theme - 30%
Social Media Votes - 30%
100%
Submitted entries shall be showcased in a Literary Magazine by the Compendium and the PSU - College of Sciences Facebook Page.
Said magazine shall be edited and formatted into a printable book and shall be put up for sale as an income generating project. Proceeds shall be in discussion with the student organizations upon production.
Outstanding entries shall be awarded with special award “Outstanding Artwork” certificates and tokens.
