CS Community celebrates science month

Not even the COVID-19 Pandemic can hamper the Palawan State University - College of Sciences from commemorating the 2020 Science Month, with a theme: “Agham at Teknolohiya: Sandigan ng Kalusugan, Kabuhayan, Kaayusan at Kinabukasan” . In a concerted effort from the Faculty, Students and Administrators of the College, a virtual celebration broadcast was hosted last September 24, 2020. This is historic, as it is the first time that the College has hosted such a broadcast.

As part of the celebration, University and College Officials, in the personalities of:

1. Dr. Ramon M. Docto - University President

2. Dr. Elucila M. Sespeñe - Vice-President for Academic Affairs

3. Dr. Grace M. Abrina - Dean of the Office of Student Affairs and Services

4. Prof. Imelda R. Lactuan - Dean of the College of Sciences

5. Mr. Elijah Daniel Geanga - University Student Government President and Student Regent and,

6. Mr. John Louie Iligan - Governor, College Student Government

have shared their messages of support, as well as their thoughts on the importance of Science and Technology, especially in the context of the ongoing pandemic and the new normal.

College Student Organizations have also hosted their own activities, which were featured in this broadcast. The Association of Computer Scientists (ACS), Environmental Science Students' Association (ESSA), Society of Information Technology Enthusiasts (SITE), and the Young Biologists' Association (YBA), have provided virtual activities that was enjoyed by their constituents.

It was also during this occasion that the Governor of the College Student Government, Mr. John Louie Ilagan, gave his inaugural address as part of the celebration. The new College Student Council was also introduced during the broadcast, who assumed their designations by virtue of the rule of succession.
