CS Community honors retirees

News Release - September 25, 2020
A historic opportunity to honor the College's retirees was held last September 24, 2020, as part of the 2020 Science Month Celebrations. The said program was held right after the broadcast of the 2020 Science Month Program, which was also simultaneously viewed virtually by the CS Community.
The honorees include:
Dr. Sonia A. Bonagua - former Dean of the College of Sciences
Dr. Carmencita Palanca - former Dean of the College of Sciences
Dr. Diolor Melitante - Faculty, BPS Department
Prof. Jaime Cardano - Faculty, Mathematics Department (not in attendance)
The program was attended by the University President, Dr. Ramon M. Docto, accompanied by his wife, Prof. Gemma Docto. Dr. Elucila M. Sespeñe, Vice-President for Academic Affairs (and former Dean of the College of Sciences and later, the College of Engineering and Architecture), along with other Deans, Directors and Heads of Offices are also in attendance, along with the Faculty of the College. Such attendance highlighted the historic importance of this occasion.
In their messages, Dr. Docto, Dr. Sespeñe and Prof. Lactuan, in behalf of all present, have unitedly expressed their appreciation and recognition for the services rendered by these distinguished personalities. They have all significantly contributed to the growth and progress of the College, and will be remembered for years to come.
Selected Faculty Members also paid tribute to the honorees.
In response, Dr. Bonagua, Dr. Palanca and Dr. Melitante have expressed their love and appreciation as they reminisce their past experiences in the College and in the University. They have also expressed gratitude to the University and College Officials and Faculty Members, for the efforts given to hold such a program, despite the pandemic.
As a token of appreciation, Dr. Docto, Dr. Sespeñe and Prof. Lactuan have given the honorees with tokens of appreciation, in recognition of such services and contributions to the College and to the University.
