Announcements Regarding Class Schedules:
Announcements Regarding Class Schedules:
Schedule adjustments are a normal part of the start of the school year, and your counselors are working diligently to ensure every student is in the best possible classes for their success. With so many students to assist, it will take some time to address all needs.
📌 How Parents Can Help:
Review the Curriculum Guide with your student.
Discuss needed changes together and note them on the Course Registration Sheet.
Do not email counselors about schedule changes—this slows the process for everyone.
Students can Schedule a Change Appointment
By appointment only during the first week of school.
Starting Thursday, August 14, the counseling secretary will have a list of available time slots for students to sign up.
If your student does not need a schedule change, they do not need an appointment.
💡 Schedule FAQs
What is “Cub Connect”?
This period is built into the schedule to support students academically, help them develop the tools and skills they need to succeed, and build a strong school community and culture. During this time, teachers are available and actively working with students on academic needs. Cub Connect will look different for every student.
Why does my student’s schedule list Cub Connect during Period 9/10?
While listed this way in the system, Cub Connect will actually take place after the first block of the school day (see the daily schedule here).
What is “Freshman Seminar”?
This class is required for all 9th graders.
How do students become Teacher’s Assistants (TAs)?
TA opportunities will be announced at a later date—please do not request this now.
What is an “off period”?
An off period is when a student does not have a class assigned during a period. One off period per year is normal and acceptable for high school scheduling. If your student has more than one missing period, they should meet with a counselor.
