GT Math

3rd, 4th, & 5th graders identified as GT in mathematics have their needs met by both their classroom teacher and the gifted and talented teacher.

3rd grade students will receive daily differentiated instruction with their homeroom math teacher. Students are also grouped according to specific needs according to skill level for targeted instruction during math IE.

4th grade students will receive differentiated instruction with their classroom teacher. Students are also grouped according to specific needs according to skill level for targeted instruction during math IE.

5th grade students will receive differentiated instruction with their classroom teacher. This curriculum will be at a faster pace and include opportunities for problem solving and critical thinking. Students are also grouped according to specific needs according to skill level for targeted instruction during math IE.

Math Olympiad

4th & 5th graders participate in the Math Olympiad contest once a month November through March. Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) is a large and popular international mathematics competition. The goal of MOEMS is to expose students to elementary methods of mathematical problem solving. Students must be present on the day of the contest as there is no make-up date.
