Starting in October, each class will compete against one another in a keyboarding battle every month. The "Battle" is a 2-minute keyboarding test that the students get to take 3 times. The student's highest WPM score with 90% or more accuracy counts for the contest. The class with the highest average score wins the battle, and gets to keep the golden keyboard in their classroom. The class that wins the Championship round gets their name on the Golden Keyboard and Klondike Bars.
Golden Keyboard Battle Dates:
Battle 1: September 30-October 4, Winner: Camenson's Class
Battle 2: November 4-8, Winner: Sullivan's Class
Battle 3: December 9-13, Winner: Dermody's Class
Battle 4: February 3-7, Winner: Camenson's Class
Battle 5: March 3-7, Winner: Sullivan's Class
Championship: April 21-25
Accelerated Reader (AR) is a program that tracks your independent reading. When you finish a book, you take a comprehension quiz on the computer to show your understanding of the book. Every student has an AR goal for each quarter of the school year. Part of the Media/Technology requirements are that you at least meet your AR goal, and hopefully double it, triple it, or more! You will receive points for doing this. One great feature of AR is that it tracks the number of words your class has read. You can see your class's word total for this quarter on the graph . Parents, click here to see your student's progress. You can sign in to Clever with their PSD email address and password.
