4th Grade students visit the library once a week for 50 minutes.  Story time and accompanying lessons support and enhance classroom units from English Language Arts to Social Studies and Science.  All lessons align with grade level Colorado Academic Standards and American Association of School Librarian national standards.

Our Media Center is a place for students to think, create, grow and share.

Some key learning areas for 4th grade students this year are:

• Understanding multimedia texts (both fiction and informational)

• Introduction to reference sources

• Introduction to the Dewey Decimal System and nonfiction call numbers

• Major book awards (Caldecott, Newbery, Pura Belpre, Coretta Scott King)

• Library catalog and how to use it
