"We can't take any credit for our talents. It's how we use them that counts"
-Madeline L'Engle
This week, 2 of our freshmen GT students organized a presentation by Austin Ballard, who is the volunteer coordinator at the Fort Collins Rescue Mission. He provided information on the Fort Collins homeless community and volunteer opportunities. This presentation was part of our 9th grade GT service learning curriculum that we are piloting in Lobo 101 classes.
Our GT Book group recently hosted local author, poet and CSU professor Camille Dungy who talked about her poetry and new book Soil: The Story of a Black Mother's Garden. We had an amazing time learning about her book and listening to her poetry!
