7th Grade Social Studies

Social Studies Curriculum

Foundation of Learning: Most PSD students have been exposed to several units of Social Studies during their K-5 school years. For example, many PSD elementary schools have their 4^th graders complete learning related to Colorado history. Many PSD fifth graders learn about the American Revolution.

Seventh Grade

Social Studies classes meet every other day for the duration of the school year. Standardized topics include: Geography, History, Civics (Government), and Economics. Topics are introduced through the completion of units that cover regions and countries in the Eastern Hemisphere. Regions covered include:

1. Europe

2. Russia and the Eurasian Republics

3. North Africa and the Middle East

4. Sub-Saharan Africa

5. South, East, and Southeast Asia

6. Australia/Oceania/Antarctica
