Google Translate and Plagiarism

If the instructor suspects that Google Translate was used for an assignment, it will automatically be a 0. Use of Google Translate counts as academic dishonesty, as per the FRHS Student Handbook. If you are caught or suspected of using Google Translate, it will result in involvement of the deans.

Students are expected to be academically honest and do their own work. Plagiarism or cheating will not be tolerated. This especially applies to use of translation programs as well as help from native speakers.

Frau Healy would prefer to see ALL of your mistakes so she can see how to help you rather than you turn in work that is full of vocabulary and grammar that you have not yet learned. Language acquisition happens only when you are putting in the effort! If plagiarism or cheating is detected, disciplinary action will be taken. Please refer to the Handbook for the full details on academic dishonesty.
