Concerts are a formal event. We also realize that students need to own versatile clothing. For that reason, we hope that the concert uniform for performing ensembles will be formal, but also:
Be worn for other formal occasions that a student might attend (church, wedding, funeral, “nice” dinner out, awards ceremony, etc.)
Be cost effective because the parts (shirt, pants, etc.) are available locally, and are “normal” clothes that local stores carry
Be less expensive than a formal uniform when a student grows and needs a new shirt, pants, etc. as the parts will be easier to replace
Be widely available in Fort Collins area retail stores, allowing parents to shop around for the best price.
Black dress pants, black dress, or black skirt
A dress or skirt must be longer than knee length
Long sleeve black, button-down shirt or black blouse
Tall black socks or black tights (no ankle skin showing, please)
Black dress shoes
Heel must be 1” or lower for safety
If in doubt, choose more formal clothing
Please avoid jeans, Capri pants, sneakers, shorts, etc
Students are responsible for providing their own concert attire. The Blevins Music Department has resources to assist families with significant financial need such as students with a fee waiver, families with a recent job loss, etc. Please contact Mr. Floyd as soon as possible if you need assistance in obtaining the required uniform.
