My husband and I moved to Fort Collins from Virginia. We absolutely LOVE living in Fort Collins and hope to call it home for a very long time. When I'm not teaching, I love spending my time outside. Biking, hiking, backpacking, gardening, reading, and spending time with my family are my favorite activities. During the summer, my family loves to travel. I have visited all 50 states, lived in 9 different states in my life, and have traveled all over the world.
I am entering my 24th year of classroom teaching. I grew up in Iowa and graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1995 and earned a Masters of Education Degree from Antioch University in 2002. I also completed the Teton Science Schools' Graduate Program in field science and place-based education. Before beginning my career as a classroom teacher, I taught kids how to ski, cave, kayak, canoe, backpacking, outdoor skills, and brought outreach programs into public schools. I love what I do now and can't imagine doing anything else!
