Personal note

I am extremely lucky to be starting my seventh year at Bethke (my 13th year of teaching.) I have loved working with the staff, students, and families of Bethke. I love learning and reading, and I hope to instill that same passion in my students.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Iowa called Adair (population approximately 800) with four other siblings. I enjoy spending time with my family especially because we live so far apart. Our family has grown a lot over the last few years, and I now have five nieces and four nephews.

I attended college at the University of Northern Iowa and received my degree in Elementary Education and Literacy Education. Then I attended the University of Iowa and earned my masters degree in Developmental Reading. During that time, I met my significant other Tommy. We lived in Iowa City during graduate school and then in Minneapolis for four years. I have always wanted to live in Colorado, so I'm elated to be here in Fort Collins.

When I'm not at school, I am spending time with my dog Lena, hiking, biking, or reading. Being outdoors, playing with niblings, and sharing time with Lena are my favorite past times.
