Mrs. Drage

About Me

I started my career in athletic training and I worked at Colorado State University as the Head Women's Athletic Trainer for 11 years as well as teaching in Health and Exercise Science. I soon realized that I wanted to teach in a classroom full time so I became certified as an elementary teacher. I feel extremely blessed to have had two careers that I don't consider "jobs." It is a joy to come to work every day! Thank you for sharing your children with me!

This past summer, I spent in my paint clothes as we are remodeling our entire house! It is a massive job but I can't wait for it to be done!

Classroom

I truly believe that students are so very capable of anything they set their mind to and if they have someone that is holding them to high expectations and supporting them, then they thrive! I also believe that it is vital to have a fun atmosphere in the classroom because, most times, if you are having fun, you forget that you are learning at the same time! I enjoy watching students get excited about all they are capable of doing in a safe, fun, learning atmosphere.

Family

I have a wonderful husband who is the Life Safety Chief/Fire Marshal for Front Range Fire Protection District in Johnstown and Milliken. I also have two kids. Mackenzie is 23 years old and lives in Kearney, Nebraska where she goes to school. Kyler is a junior at the University of Northern Colorado and he is studying to become an elementary teacher and a coach too! He also holds one on one lessons for kids of all ages for baseball and coaches three baseball teams.

What Does Mrs. Drage Like To Do?

I LOVE to ride my bike! I ride pretty much every day during the summer and I get sad when it starts to get cold so that I can't get my bike out. I also love to read, bake and work on my house. We are completely remodeling our whole house this year so you can pretty much find me at home when I am not at school! Mr. Drage and I are also restoring a 1968 Ford Mustang that we got as an anniversary present to ourselves. We really can't wait to get it done! I like to go to the theater, eat out with friends and spend time with my kids.

Dogs

One thing you cannot get away from in my classroom is animals! I am a complete softie when it comes to my love of all things furry, fuzzy and animal. I have four (yes, four) dogs of my own that all found us as they are all rescues. Sophie Grace is our little princess Yorkie and Oliver Oxford is our white tornado sweetheart! Murphy Osborne is our Silky Terrier disguised in a Pug body and Maximillian Elliott is our neurotic, scaredy-cat disguised as a Yorkie! We love them all and I always have puppy stories to tell!
