Our “Math Ninja” program supports students in learning their math facts, addition and subtraction, up to 20. The levels begin with facts up to, and including the number 6, and add new math facts at each level with increasingly larger numbers. The goal is to develop automaticity and fluency in solving math equations up to 20. When students are able to complete 40 out of a possible 50 questions correctly in approximately 5 minutes, they move on to the next level. For every four levels completed, students will receive a “Ninja Belt” with the last belt being their Black Belt! Our goal each day is to be “1 better than the day before” as we continue our journey in becoming a Math Ninja Black Belt.
If you would like to practice with your child at home, please feel free to print the corresponding “Ninja Page” from those listed below. During class time, we listen to the song: “Eye of the Tiger” as our timer. The students begin their work when the song begins and stop when the song ends. Feel free to practice without the song, but if your child wants to “test” themselves, you can play the song for them here: “Eye of the Tiger – Survivor”
