- Take the time to reread each of your notecards.
- Sort them by topic/category, keeping in mind that each topic should help you answer your research question.
- An outline or graphic organizer can help you organize your sources.
Ask yourself:
- What do I still need to know?
- What information am I missing?
- Has my view about my topic changed in light of my research?
- Do I need to revise my research question knowing what I know now (broaden or narrow my topic, or start over)?
- Can I answer my topic and supporting questions with the information I have collected?
Ask yourself:
- Have I looked at a variety of sources? (Reference articles, books, scholarly articles, primary sources, etc.)
- Do I need to do further research to collect more sources?
- Is each source linked to a citation?
