Creating a search strategy will help you locate useful information for your research project. You will identify:
concepts, key words, and questions related to your topic
the types of sources you need and where to locate them.
More on Creating a Search Strategy
Use the questions, keywords, and list of sources you developed to begin searching for information.
Effective searching techniques will help you find the most relevant and reliable information.
More on Gathering Information
If you want to use an Internet source, you must evaluate whether the source is reliable, using the CRAAP test.
If you choose to use a source, create a complete citation before taking notes. BHS uses the MLA format unless your teacher tells you to use a different format.
Your teacher may assign a system for you to use when taking notes, or they may leave the choice up to you. There are many different note-taking formats, so find one that works for you.
