Meet the Team

Ashley Ravelo
(She/Her)

Health Educator/Family Worker

I have always enjoyed helping people anyway that I can. I am very observant and have always had the interest in the human mind leading me to pursue my bachelor's in psychology. I have and love supporting a variety of people over my career, especially where I see there may be a need for something I have information about. In my free time I like to spend time with my pets and loved ones and go shopping !

Michelle Carino-Salas, MSW (She/Her)

PS311 Clinician/Social Worker

Over the last few years, I managed to get my BSW and MSW back-to-back. As you can tell I enjoy being in a school setting; I have always found interest in working with children and navigating the DOE. I have experience advocating for student services and providing support in and out of classrooms. I am excited to work in a welcoming school environment and will always be here to support and listen when needed. Personally, I am enjoy talking about sneakers and have a collection to match every outfit.

Fatima Zahra Amr, LMSW

(She/Her)

PS294 Clinician/Social Worker

As the PS 294 social worker, I am involved in various projects including collaborating with teachers and admin around SEL needs, building resources and developing workshops; however the heart of my work lies in building relationships with the school families, students, admin and staff. My training as a clinical social worker has also provided me with the necessary skills to support students on a one-on-one basis through counseling as well as building the self regulation skills needed for students to be able to access their learning brains and develop meaningful relationships with their peers and teachers.  In my free time, I enjoy knitting and catching up with friends.

Rebecca Valenzuela

(She/Her)

Community School Director

Starting from a very young age I have enjoyed working with children. That lead me to earn my Bachelors degree in teaching. Although I enjoyed it very much, after four years of classroom teaching I decided to make a career change. Passionate about community and humanitarian affairs I earned a Masters degree in Community & International Development. Having  worked in this program for over three years, this school community has become my extended family. My door is always open for anyone who needs assistance or just a listening ear. In my free time I enjoy traveling and spending time with loved ones.
