In this writing unit, Kindergarteners will reflect on troubles they see around the classroom and school and think, “how could this be better?” They use all kinds of writing to help make a change, such as a letter, a song, a book, or a sign. Then students will use their opinion writing skills to make a change in the greater community, neighborhood, and world!

Students will work on:

1. Stating their opinion

2. use words like 'because' to say more

3. give lots of reasons why

4. give a fix it idea or a solution

As always, we will continue to work on the proper spelling of snap words, stretching our words, making spaces, writing more than one sentence on the page, and adding details to words and pictures.
