Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education recognizes the importance of including students' cultural references in all aspects of learning. At PS/MS 146 we want to celebrate the diversity of our students, teachers, staff and families. We believe that all students deserve a rigorous education that honors their cultures, backgrounds, and communities. When students are fully seen, supported, and affirmed in their unique identities and experiences, they go on and do great things.
One way we are implementing CRSE into our curriculum is dedicating each month to a different culture. All students in grades 3K-8 listen to a read aloud and engage in various activities that highlight that particular culture for that month
Below you can find the different CRSE topics and read-alouds for each month.
