Training for the team sports listed below will be lead by a PRSD Varsity Coach. Training sessions will be held at the Pentucket Regional campus in West Newbury on the artificial turf or natural grass fields, all-weather running track, indoor hardwood gym, indoor turf or tennis courts.

Cheering

PRMHS Gymnasium
For students entering Pre-K (must be toilet trained) through 8th grade
Your child will experience four fun filled days of activities geared toward skill building and team training. Among the skills are tumbling, stunting, jumping, motions, dance, cheers, and team building. Also included are relay races, cheers, group dances, stretching, and conditioning. It is fast paced and all skill levels will enjoy the fun. Organized and positive, it is hosted by the Pentucket Varsity Cheerleading team, Varsity Coaches, and Pentucket Youth Cheer coaches. On the last day of the Clinic, Thursday June 27, there will be a showcase at 11:30 for parents and families where each group will perform a routine of all their new skills.

Baseball

For students entering Grade 5 through 8th grade
In this clinic, students will work on fundamental baseball skills and will be applying them in game type situations. We will be covering throwing, fielding, base-running, and hitting. The clinic will be run by current Pentucket High School Head Coach and former professional player Allen Mottram. We will be using the brand new turf field on the Pentucket campus.

PRMHS Tennis Courts
For students entering grade 5 through 12+
Whether experienced or brand new to tennis, this 8 week program is designed to sharpen your skills while understanding all the nuances of the game. Sessions will focus on skill development and technique in regards to ground strokes (forehand and backhand), volleying, and serving. For those who are new you will learn how to keep score properly and actually call your own match (in singles and in doubles). Run by a former collegiate tennis player and current Varsity Tennis Coach, the athletes will be put through high level training and drills to improve their overall game.

Field Hockey

Our 4 day youth training clinic is open to all skill levels. The clinic is designed for those who are new to the sport of field hockey as well as those who want to continue to develop their skills! Each session will consist of skill development, fundamental concepts, small games, competitions, and LOTS of FUN!

Volleyball is one of the fastest growing sports in New England! Come join the Pentucket Regional volleyball team and learn the skills needed to play. We’ll focus on basic beginner skills, advanced skills, court movement, and games to spark interest in the sport. Students will be broken up by age and/or skill level in order to maximize their learning. Current Pentucket players will assist with running the clinic.

Boys Basketball

For students entering grade 5 through 8th
The Pentucket Basketball Academy lead by Ed Hickey, the Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at the PRHS. The camp offers the chance to learn the game the same way the varsity team is coached during the season. The Basketball Academy staff is dedicated to working with each basketball player to help him develop his fundamental skills. The academy involves a combination of individual instruction and team competition that provide young athletes opportunity to develop fundamental skills. Every basketball player will be grouped by one‘s age for instruction and for game competition. Learning how to execute fundamental skills is the key to individual improvement. Team concepts will be covered as well. Various offense and defensive systems will be introduced and every basketball player will learn how to defend or attack different styles of play. Additionally, participants will be assigned to teams for game competition – a great opportunity to put newly learned skills into practice.

Girls and Boys Soccer Training for HS Players
For boys and girls entering grade 9 through grade 12
Midweek Sessions:
Training sessions will focus on developing fundamental skills in order to help players get ready for high school level soccer. Coaches will emphasize footskills, first touch, shooting, passing, and dribbling with a focus on individual development and improvement. Practices will compliment the summer league schedule as to enable players to apply their new skills in game settings.
Week of Aug 12th-15th
This is specifically designed to prepare players for double sessions (which will begin the following week). Coaches will emphasize individual development (footskills, first touch, shooting, passing, and dribbling) as well as team games in order to foster teamwork and camaraderie. Sessions will also incorporate fitness and agility so players are in peak condition for tryouts.

If an athlete would like to participate in ONLY the 4 days at the end of the summer - August 12, 13, 14, 15 they can do so at a reduced fee of $125.
If an athlete would like to participate in the all of the session, EXCEPT for the last 4 days, they can do so at a reduced fee of $125.
