I have been teaching at Sweetsir for over 20 years, including 8 years in the Integrated Preschool. I have my Master’s in Special Education and certifications in Early Childhood and Special Education. Some of my favorite preschool activities include sharing my favorite stories with the class, building projects, and movement activities with various materials such as parachutes, scarves and beanbags. Outside of school, I enjoy hiking and traveling to new places.
This is my 15th year at Sweetsir School. For the past ten years, I have taught Kindergarten. I am so excited to begin a new role teaching our youngest learners at Sweetsir School. Some of my favorite activities are reading stories, sensory and motor development activities, and singing songs. I have a passion for multisensory learning and creating engaging, hands-on experiences for students. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three-year-old daughter. We love to go camping in the summer and spend lots of time at our family’s camp in the White Mountains.
I have been teaching for 10 years with 5 in the Integrated Preschool. I have my Master’s in Special Education and a degree in Elementary Education. I am a mom of 3 and have fostered 6 children ranging in age 14 months to 16 years. My favorite part of preschool is creating a classroom community where the children feel safe enough to develop independence and a love of learning. If I am not at one of my kid’s field hockey, softball, or soccer games I love being at home with my family which includes the dog, cats, and chickens. I enjoy having a cup of tea, reading, or working out in my yard.
I have been an educator at Pentucket for 10 years, teaching students in grades 3–6 as well as preschool. Throughout these years, I have discovered how much I truly love teaching our littlest learners! I especially enjoy reading stories, exploring new ideas, and creating music and art together in the classroom. I also cherish spending time outdoors with my students and love inspiring them to appreciate and care for the natural world. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three children. We love hiking, exploring the wilderness, and spending time on the ocean and at the beach.
This is my first year teaching at Sweetsir and I couldn't be happier to join this wonderful community! I bring seven years of experience teaching integrated preschool, along with a Master's Degree in Inclusive Early Childhood Education from James Madison University in Virginia. My absolute favorite parts of the preschool day are morning circle—where we gather to connect, share, and start our morning on a bright note—and storytime! Outside the classroom, I love to bake, read, and go on walks with my dog, Toby.
