Auditions 

Welcome to Provo High Dance! I am thrilled you are interested in auditioning for Provo Dance Company or our Provo Dance Collectives(Dance 3) for the 2026-2027 school year. I look forward to meeting and dancing with you. Please read through the requirements for each company before considering to audition.

PDC and PDC3 COMPANY REQUIREMENTS

• Maintain 2.0 GPA and uphold other District Code of Conduct requirements (discussed in parent meeting)

• Uphold Company Code of Conduct (discussed in parent meeting)

• Failure to maintain either codes will be a suspension of participation or removal from the company

Provo Dance Company (PDC)  is for grades 10-12 and is taught during A1. Early morning practices will mostly happen on the days we have class (6:30 AM), but other days may be needed depending on needs of the project. These early morning practices are mandatory unless directed otherwise. Class fee for Dance Company is $450 (gear, choreographers, costumes, etc.). Dance Company participates in festivals and workshops and will require admission and travel fees for these events throughout the year. Shakespeare Festival will be an additional $200 (September or October) and tour (sometime between February-April) will range from $500-1500. Dance Company performs at the half-times of all home football and basketball game and most school assemblies.

Provo Dance Collective Companies (Dance 3) are for grades 9-12. Collective meets everyday B day at 7:00 AM (30 minutes before school starts) to get more rehearsal and preparation completed. There may be a few early morning rehearsals (6:00 AM) for the combined routines with Dance Company or if we need the extra practices before a performance. Dance Collective (D3) will perform at the Homecoming football game as well as a few varsity home basketball games. Juniors and Seniors in this group are invited to go on the fall/spring tour ($500-1500). The class fee for these companies is $250 (gear, choreographers, costumes, etc).

We will be using a Google Form to gather your information and teacher recommendations.

Audition Material

Audition material will be taught on April 20, 3:30-7:00 PM in the Dance Room. Officers and/or senior company members will warmup the group and start teaching the material at 3:30. Auditions are held in person.

AUDITION PROCESS

April 20 - Audition Workshop, 3:30-7:00 PM

Dancers learn the audition material taught by Dance Company Officers.

April 21 - Audition Hip Hop, Contemporary, Technique Combos, 3:30-7:00 PM

In small groups, the dancers will perform the Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Technique combos for 3 judges. Officers will be going through material on the other side of the dance room throughout the audition process. After they perform in their group, we ask they stay for callbacks.  Callbacks are a chance for judges to see specific groups of dancers at once.  We ask dancers stay the entire time this day.
