Google Classroom is an appropriate distance education platform/ LMS. It is a free platform that allows the teacher to work synchronous or asynchronous in the classroom. According to McGinnis (2021), "Google Classroom brings the benefits of paperless sharing, assessment, and digital collaboration to classrooms. Tens of millions of teachers and students use Google Classroom in thousands of schools worldwide, making it one of the most popular Edtech tools around". Teachers can post lessons, links to other educational platforms like Edpuzzle, Quizziz, Flipgrid, and Padlet, allowing students to see their scores, feedback, and comments immediately. It is a handy platform, user-friendly, and easy to use for most students. Google Classroom allows teachers to communicate efficiently with students and connect with them. It is easy to invite and remove students anytime. Also, teachers can invite parents to the classroom and keep them informed about classwork and class events (Langevin, 2021).
Google Classroom allows teachers to organize grades with the SIS system connecting them to Skyward. Moreover, it is secure the user must use a google account provide by the school (Langevin, 2021). Also, teachers can set up reminders about the assignments, check student work individually even if it is group work, and answer student questions privately or make announcements for all the class.
Google classroom has features for the teacher like creating documents, sharing pdf, downloading files for students learning, sharing information, creating google forms like quizzes or reading logs, adding rubrics, creating slides, downloading videos, pictures, games, etc. So it makes the class even more interactive. Besides, teachers can repost assignments, use them in other courses or archive the work for other years (McGinnis, 2021).
Google Classroom allows live- meetings. "Google Classroom integrates with Google Meet, and teachers can set up video meetings from within Google Classroom for live, or "synchronous," instruction" (McGinnis, 2021). Also, support differentiation classes. For example, teachers can modify assignments for specific students or groups and individualize learning. Also, students can ask questions and receive personalized answers.
According to Lynch (2018), some crucial advantages of google classroom are the accessibility from any device like phones, tablets, or computers. In addition, it is a paperless platform, and the teacher work and student work are saved automatically in google drive. Finally, it is a time saver for students and teachers. For students because they can complete their assignments immediately. Furthermore, teachers can use features like repost work, grade student work, and create documents faster.
