Risk Factors Survey Question
For this question, we collected a total of 60 responses, and from this, we concluded that among our peers, the most common factor that led to trauma was domestic neglect/abuse. As a result, by using this data, we started our fundraiser with Pat's Place, a local child advocacy center in Charlotte, NC to specifically target this risk factor.
Protective Factors Survey Question
Similar to the previous question, this question had a total of 60 respondents. The exception is that for this question, our peers were able to select multiple answers for the survey. Surprisingly, the three main protective factors that our peers selected as probably being the most effective were much more favored compared to the other options. To begin, regarding the most favored (85%) protective factor of growing up in a safe environment, we conducted Mission Trauma Dump to help alleviate any stress off of our friends' shoulders, thus creating a safe area. Additionally, for the 2nd highest protective factor of having something to care for (82%), we conducted Mission Plants for Peers to provide our peers with something to care and nurture for.
