Computer Science
All competitors in a computer competition are required to provide their own equipment including extension cords.
Schools competing in the programming portion of the Computer Science program should make sure that their devices are able to use HackerRank and use the instructions below to test it before the Regionals competition date.
Students will be required to create a new account during contest time.
Because each HackerRank account requires an email address, should students not have access to an email that is either provided to them by their school or has already used that email to create a HackerRank account, students will be encouraged to make use of a temporary email address. An example of a website that allows students the use of a temporary email address is the following: https://temp-mail.org/en/
Students will still be responsible for informing the contest director through the team sign-in sheets what the name of their team is. It should loosely follow the structure that is mentioned in the documents that are sent out that will be posted below.
The team name format will be updated as follows: [School]_[#]_[Contest]_[Year].
For example, if I were participating in the District contest from last week, I was from Hebron High School, and I was the first team from Hebron, my team name would be "HebronHS_1_District11_6A_2023".
This change is being made to accommodate the issues created when a team name is re-used. Including the contest level and year will hopefully mitigate that issue moving forward.
When teams fill out their team sign-in sheet and go to submit it to the contest director, they will need to additionally bring their laptops up with them to do the following:
Show the contest director that they are signed in to the account listed on their team sign-in sheet.
Show the contest director a completed and accepted Dry-run submission.
Show the contest director a list of their submissions through the account that they are currently using.
This should ONLY contain any attempts to solve the dry run.
