In order to take the best care of our students with asthma, we ask that parents submit an asthma action plan from their child's pediatrician. This plan helps the nurse know what steps to take in the event that your child's asthma flares up during the school day. It should outline what to do for the green, yellow, and red zones that will be specific for your child. The American Lung Association Asthma Action plan is linked below. You can use this one, or one that your doctor provides. Your doctor will need to sign the plan since these are medical orders that the nurse can carry out during the school day.
