Orchestras

Beginning Orchestra: students with zero experience or less than one year of experience taking lessons on a stringed instrument. 

Prelude Orchestra: an intermediate level orchestra for students with one or more year previously enrolled in school orchestra or taking private lessons.

Concert Orchestra: an advanced orchestra, Junior Varsity level orchestra. 

Symphony Orchestra: Varsity level orchestra, the most advanced level orchestra at Hays Middle School. Symphony Orchestra students are the ambassadors of the Hays Orchestra, performing in the community at local elementary schools, for our Veterans Day recognition and various events. 

Students are selected to the various orchestra by an audition evaluation each spring.
