This is information about your required 6 update hours.
The Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students requires that all teachers who provide instruction and services for gifted and talented students receive training in the nature and needs, identification and assessment of, and curriculum and instruction for gifted and talented students.
These hours are earned from May 1st through April 1st.
Core Teachers
Core Teachers
(ELAR, Math, Science, Social Studies, SPED Resource, SET, and BTC)
You are required to earn 6 hours each year of GT Updates.
Non Core Teachers
Non Core Teachers
(Everyone else, including Librarians)
You are required to earn 2 hours each year of GT Updates.
Special Note:
Even if you are working on the Reading Academy, you are still required to complete the 6-hour update!
