This is information about obtaining your required 30 foundational hours.
The Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students requires that all teachers who provide instruction and services for gifted and talented students receive training in the nature and needs, identification and assessment of, and curriculum and instruction for gifted and talented students.
Core Teachers
Core Teachers
(ELAR, Math, Science, Social Studies, SPED Resource, SET, and BTC)
Either upload proof that you have already taken your 30 hours in a previous district OR sign up to take the 30 hours through Prosper ISD!
Non Core Teachers
Non Core Teachers
(Everyone else, including Librarians)
Either upload proof that you have already taken your 30 hours in a previous district OR sign up to take the required 12 hours through Prosper ISD!
Special Note:
If you do not have your 30 hours and are currently working on the Reading Academy, your foundational training will be postponed until the following year.
