Discover Day 5 Update!
I can’t believe our week has come to a close. We’ve learned and grown so much this week, stretching our imaginations and using our brain power to come up with unique solutions. I’ve been honored to get to know our campers and be a part of their journey this week. Thank you for sharing them with me!
Your camper should come home with lots of projects to show you! Take some time to ask them about how they built things and what their planning process looked like. You may even venture into their Inventor Log to see evidence of their thinking.
Additionally, your camper came home with a note from their LI, who has been their volunteer high school group leader all week. I look forward to seeing many of you next year for Camp Invention!
Congratulations to our Yellow Group for winning the color wars!!!! Here were the final point totals.

Highlights from today? There are so many! We got to see videos of the Solar Car and Robotics teams at their competitions. We tested and teamed up for our Marble Arcades and created jet packs for more exploration in Spacecation. We also made beautiful art with our Artybot, which is coming home with each camper for more art projects!

Howdy CI Families,
Another banner day full of fun at Camp Invention today. Wednesday is always one of my favorites because everyone is in the groove and the projects really start coming together! If you aren't following @InventProsper on X you are missing out. These Marble Arcades are getting complex and we added a Symbiotic creature to our jellyfish tanks in Robotic Aquatics. Our bigs created a shoe prototype and our littles designed shoe treads and made a stamp of them in The Attic. We played 9 square in CI Games (a new one for me) and Spacecation had some Astro Arm challenges to complete today!
**BIG NEWS: TOMORROW IS SPLASH DAY** see details below
We started our day with a chant off and our loudest chant groups got points for their color team. We also had a competition for the camp song, with color groups receiving points. Campers can receive points from all instructors for different challenges, as well as daily at base camp and lunch! Our scores shift hourly, but we are ending today with Orange in the lead.
A few reminders:
Remember that if you are picking up early you must pick up before 3 pm, as we are all hands on deck to start our dismissal procedure.
Students will start to bring home some projects tomorrow and will bring everything home on Friday. We recommend sending a large reusable shopping bag or trash bag with them Friday to help transport their creations.

** The Marble Arcade module has requested that I let everyone know that campers may want to bring some small upcycled to help them created obstacles in their arcade game. Please do not feel like you need to purchase anything, these are just little items you have extra around the house. We've provided some of the leftover upcycled from June camp, but you may want to talk to your camper about other ideas they have for their game.
Our entire staff enjoyed their first day and we can't wait for day two! See you in your hats tomorrow!
Illuminate Day 5 Update!
Howdy CI Families,
I can’t believe our week has come to a close. We’ve learned and grown so much this week, stretching our imaginations and using our brain power to come up with unique solutions. I’ve been honored to get to know our campers and be a part of their journey this week. Thank you for sharing them with me!
Highlights from today? There are so many! To start our day the Prosper Solar Car team shared video and information about the solar cars they build and race. The team will not be with us as LIs in July because they will be driving the Solar Car in the national competition! Good luck Solar Car, thanks for joining us this week to make camp great!
Red Team won our Color War for the week! Congrats Red!
As for our sessions, during the In the Game students finished up their game board and then were inducted into the Game of Fame complete with ceremony and fanfare! In Let’s Glow campers finished up their glow boxes and then created a Gallery of Icons display with all the glow boxes. They also finally got to solve the mystery of how Gary glows…ask them about Gary. In Prototyping Studio today campers built a game and protected it with their very own patent. Finally, in Operation Hydrodrop campers worked with ecosystems, pitching inventions to help keep ecosystems clean! However, the highlight of the day was water day in CI Games!
Sadly, water day on Friday plus taking home projects made our lost and found blossom from one waterbottle to a giant amount of waterbottles, lunchboxes, clothing and towels. Here is a link to photos of the Lost & Found. The procedure for pick up will be that you may come up on July 3rd during our set-up day for July camp and pick up your items. We will have a second pick up time on July 9th. Unfortunately, school staff will not have access to the lost and found between now and then. We will have boxes of lost and found items out on the benches on those days for you to come claim! Please do not email me separately about Lost & Found as I will be on vacation between camps and not able to answer, this will just clog my inbox for our July crew who is needing camp info.
Your camper should have come home with lots of projects to show you! Take some time to ask them about how they built things and what their planning process looked like.
Additionally, your camper came home with a note from their LI and a coupon for next summer’s camp. Prosper is fortunate to get to offer two weeks of Camp Invention each summer, I look forward to seeing many of you in July at Camp Invention Explore (camp is already full), but this coupon is for next summer.
Lost & Found - can pick up during July Camp July 8-12 at Hughes
I hope your family enjoyed hearing about your camper's day each night. I enjoyed getting to share this experience with our campers. Have a great summer!
Illuminate Day 4 Update!
Howdy CI Families!
Another great day full of creation today! These projects are starting to shape up and I remain incredibly impressed. Today they designed a water feature in Prototyping Studio after learning about the inventor of the Super Soaker (see parent newsletter for more info). Then they worked on a UV layer in Let's Glow and learned about water filtration before designing their own water-cleaning inventions in Hydrodrop. In the Game had students creating equipment to propel their ball at the gameboard and the option to create a brand logo for their game. CI Games kept everyone moving with some four square and reminders about tomorrows water day!
Please know that students are welcome to wear their swimsuits with their Camp Invention shirt tomorrow so that they are prepped for water day. Please send a towel & change of clothes for after CI Games, campers will come in and change. It would be best to send this change of clothes in a bag that they can carry to the gym with them during this rotation.
Here is our color wars total for the end of the day!
Here are the reminders from Coach Mister & Coach Arnold about Water Day:
On Friday we will have a Water Day in PE (weather permitting). Please send your child with the following:

Illuminate Day 3 Update!
Howdy CI Families,
What a full day we had. Wednesday is always one of my favorites because everyone is in the groove and the projects really start coming together! If you aren't following @InventProsper on X you are missing out. Today I did my best to post photos of projects and progress for all the modules! My favorite part was the time I spent in Let's Glow checking out the amazing slides the campers made. They learned about the difference between bioluminescence and phosphorescence (with their own UV light box!). It was so much fun.
They also worked on their game boards today in "In The Game" and created a kitchen tool in "Prototyping Studio". Rounding out our day CI Games had them playing Hula Hut and Straddle Ball, while Optibot worked on building bridges!
We started our day with a chant off and our loudest chant groups got points for their color team. We also had a competition for the camp song, with color groups receiving points. Campers can receive points from all instructors for different challenges, as well as daily at base camp and lunch! Our scores shift hourly, but we are ending today in a three-way tie for 1st!

Illuminate Day 2 Update!
Howdy Camp Invention Families!
Another great day at Camp Invention today. Students got to hook up their lights inside their box in "Let's Glow", they started working on their game boards in "In The Game" and we created grey water systems for their tiny houses in "Operation: HydroDrop". We had a visit from Mr. Van Wolfe today and debuted our camp chants in a chant-off!
We've started our "Color Wars" competition, where instructors can award points to color groups for creative thinking, being a great helper or awesome behavior. We also awarded points in Base Camp for our teamwork activities. Today our Green Team got points for the best chants for both big and littles, while Red took the best flag for littles and Orange for bigs. However, at the end of the day it was Red who came out on top so far. Red is leading our points with 32pts right now, but it's a close race and we've got more opportunities for points tomorrow!
Attached is our parent email, as always you can also find this info on our website.
A few house keeping notes...
