What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)?
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is used to treat both men and women experiencing hormonal imbalances. The hormones used are chemically identical to those naturally produced by the human body, but are derived from plant estrogens. Here at Proper Eu we use bioidentical testosterone and estrogen to treat patients with hormone imbalance. These hormones come in many forms: pills, patches, gels, creams, injections and pellets.
Bioidentical hormone pellets are the preferred methods not only because they avoid the fluctuations of hormone levels that provide for a more consistent hormone level over a longer period of time. In addition, there are a multitude of studies that prove that bioidentical hormone therapy reduce cardiovascular, breast and prostate cancer and Alzheimer's risk over no treatment and using synthetic hormone therapy.

How do you place the pellets?
We use numbing medication prior to making a very small incision into your buttock prior to placing the pellets. We alternate sides each visit.
How long do the pellets last?
In men: 5-6 months
In women: 2-3 months
