Remove Drain Plug

Remove gearbox oil drain plug using 13mm socket with extension.

Drain oil

I cut up a milk gallon jug to use as a deflector to keep from getting oil all over the exhaust.

Clean drain plug magnet

Throughly clean the magnet on the end of the drai plug t remove all metal particles. Inspect for any abnormal wear by looking for large metal chunks.

Old gearbox oil

I used a measure cup to see how much fluid came out. Notice the color is a very bronz rather thant a drak brown or black. I'm not sure if this is because the oil was not changed in a long time or if someone had previously added some sort of adative.

Add oil

I added 1 qt of Valvoline 75w90 synthetic gear oil. I will likely redo this procedure in a few months and use Royal Purple as it's supposed to be a much better oil. I have aready seen a huge improvement with the gearbox shifting with this change.
