Predator traps

The senior classes have been looking after our environment around our school by setting up traps for predators around our Native Tree and river area. They have been checking them for rats, possums and other creatures that are a threat to our native wildlife! Ka pai senior students.

Rerenga Awa - Native Planting Day

Our classrooms took turns going down to the Rerenga Awa to plant some native trees with Mrs McCormick. The children had a wonderful time pulling up weeds, helping dig holes, measure the holes, put the plants in and cover them with fresh bark.

Community Day - Awa Clean Up

We invited our wider school community to come and help clean up the the awa that runs past our school. At low tide, lots of students, parents, caregivers and whanau braved the mud and cold water to pull out rubbish.
