On a bright and sunny May morning, the senior class of Princeville High School embarked on a memorable trip to Matthiessen State Park in Oglesby, Illinois. The trip, organized as a capstone event to celebrate their upcoming graduation, offered students a day of adventure and bonding.

Matthiessen State Park, known for its striking rock formations, cascading waterfalls, and lush forested areas, provided the perfect backdrop for the seniors to unwind from the rigors of their final academic year.

The seniors navigated the trails that wound through stunning canyons, over bridges, and alongside the park’s serene streams. Highlights of the hike included the awe-inspiring Lower Dells waterfall and the picturesque Vermilion River, where many students paused to take photos and soak in the scenery.
